She took a deep breath and answered the call.

“Stella.” Lucia’s voice was as warm as ever.
“I hope I’m not disturbing your sleep.”
“No.” Stella remembered their last phone call and decided to ask about it.
“Mrs. Clark, why have you called at this hour? Did you want to tell me what happened to Maverick last time?”
Lucia got straight to the point.
“Stella, can we meet in person to talk? When are you available?”
